On 14th Nov’ 2015, BSF School Jammu celebrated - a day dedicated to children - Children’s Day in the school campus. The purpose was to celebrate childhood and promote awareness about children’s welfare. The celebration began with the garlanding of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru’s portrait BY Chief Guest DIG BSF SH. S N Mehta & Principal Dr S K Shukla along with the staff and the students paid floral tribute to Pt.Nehru for his affection towards children.
A wide range of innovative and fun filled activities were organised that seemed much as a festival. Various competitions such as musical chair, Rangoli, flower arrangement, salad making, needle thread race, volleyball match, lemon spoon race and many more were organised to mark the event and make it a special day for children to enjoy childhood. A group song ‘Bache Hindustan Ke’ touched the hearts of the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest DIG BSF SH. S N Mehta said: Children’s Day is a perfect time to remind everyone why we care about children and how important education of children is. Youth could propel the country’s progress and their role has increased manifold with the changing times.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes and sweets among the children.
