In the run- up to International Yoga Day,NCC Junior Wing Girls BSF of Senior Secondary School Jammu practised yoga with great fervour and gaiety from May 16 to June 21. The cadets got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind, body and spirit. The yoga session commenced with cadets performing stretching and loosening exercises and a two-minute vedic invocation in the beginning.
The session included asanas such as Surya-namaskar, Bhujangasana, Vrikshasana , Pawanmuktasana among others were followed by breathing exercises like Kapalbhati, Pranayama and meditation. Prayers were recited before and after the session. The cadets found the benefits of yoga amazing and vowed to make it a part of their lives. The whole event was supervised by the Principal of the school , Dr. S .K. Shukla.
The cadets were imparted training by caretaker NCC Junior wing Girls Mrs. Kiran Pathania and the expert team of teachers Mrs. Uma Bali,Mr. Mahesh Chander, Mr. CN Upadhayay and Mr. Bhushan Bhardwaj.
